Home Basketball Court

If you want to increase your skills in basketball, the best way is to practice in your own home basketball court. This way, you will be able to practice anytime you want and as often as you want in your own home basketball court. You can easily invite your friends or teammates over and enjoy a game with them. Your practice will then be more productive as you get to play defensively and offensively.

If you have enough space in your backyard, why not make your own home basketball court? Creating a private basketball court in house is not that much hard to do. In fact, if you have a huge home, you can even come up with an indoor home basketball court if you want to. For as long as you have a smooth playing surface, home basketball court construction would be a pretty simple thing to do.

Here are a few steps to help you create home basketball courts of your own. The things you would need are the Basketball goal along with the tools for installing, and around 500 pounds quick-drying concrete.

First thing to keep in mind is where you want to install your home basketball court. Make sure to find a flat surface that’s out of street traffic. Also, try to avoid installing outdoor home basketball courts that are near breakable things like windows.

Now if you want to install a permanent goal for your home basketball court, you will have to create a hole which is at least 2 feet in depth. The width of the hole should at least be one and half feet. Make sure you won’t interfere with any cable lines or wires for utility or phone. If you need to dig a hole, we have to fill that hole with concrete after we position your pole so that is where we’ll be using the quick-drying concrete.

Now the pole, metal hoop, and backboards can be bought in stores or online. Just look for shops selling basketball court for homes to find these accessories. They come with manuals so it will be easy for you to assemble. Now, when you’re pole is ready, you have to fill up the hole with the quick-drying concrete that has already been mixed. Fill it 1/3 full for the foundation, now insert the base of your pole. Next, fill the rest of the hole with the concrete adding enough that it is slightly higher than the ground. Make sure the base is straight and adjust accordingly. Let it dry for 24 hours. Install the pole with the backboard and hoop to your base. Now you’re ready to play in your home basketball court!
