The Orlando Magic are generally a young team. The Orlando Magic were part of the plan of the NBA expansion during the 1980s. The team started its season at the same time with Miami Heat. Missing the playoffs was actually a blessing in disguise for the team. The very next year, the team acquired Anfernee Hardaway, who is the much needed point guard to partner O’Neal. The tandem would breeze through the Orlando Magic schedule, winning 50 games for the first time in the franchise history. However, their magical season ended with a first round sweep by the Indiana Pacers. The following season, they went on to beat everyone in the east and made the NBA conference finals. However, the performance of the team in the finals was quite below expectations as they were swept by the Houston Rockets. They tried again for another year, but they were stopped by the Bulls in the conference finals. After that, Shaq was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
